Cylindrical two-stage gearboxes with horizontal Novikov gearing for general machine-building applications of the types CDN-450, CDN-500, CDN-630, CDN-710 are designed to increase torque and reduce rotational speed.
Conditions of use of CDN gearboxes
- the load is constant and variable, single direction and reversible;
- long-term or intermittent operation, shaft rotation in any direction;
- The speed of rotation of the input shaft should not exceed 1500 rpm.;
- ambient temperature from minus 40 °C to plus 50°C;
- increased dustiness, non-aggressive environment;
- climatic versions U, T ( for accommodation category 1...4) according to GOST 15150-69.

The gearbox is cylindrical(C), two-stage(2), with Novikov gears (H), a low-speed stage axial distance of 630 mm, a nominal gear ratio of 25 assembly option 12, with a low-speed shaft end in the form of a gear coupling M(m12,z40) modulus 12, number of teeth 40, climatic design Y and placement category 3.

Gearboxes allow short-term overloads twice as high as the nominal ones indicated in the table and occurring during engine start and stop, provided that the number of output shaft cycles during these overloads does not exceed 5 • 104 during the entire service life of the gearbox.
A crankcase non-flowing lubrication system is provided in the gearbox. It is recommended to fill the following oil grades into the gearbox housing: IRp-75, IRp-150 TU 38101451-78; ISp-65, ISp-110 TU 38101293-78, foreign-made oils: Mobilgear 627, Mobil D.T.E 27, Wiolan IT 150, MO 150 or others having a kinematic viscosity in the range of 35-150 mm2/s at a temperature of 50 °C.
